SPRING (MARCH – MAY)

Pros:

  • Fewer tourists than summer – quieter roads and sites

  • Blooming landscapes – wildflowers, wildlife

  • Milder weather begins, more daylight

Cons:

  • Unpredictable weather – snow/hail still possible in March

  • Some campsites or attractions may still be closed

  • Nights can still be cold, especially in remote areas

Summer (June – August)

Pros:

  • Warmest weather, long daylight hours (up to 18 hrs)

  • Most attractions and campsites open

  • Great for hiking, lochs, and scenic drives

Cons:

  • Midges! (especially near lochs and in the evening)

  • Popular – more traffic, limited campsite availability
